i was robbed

finally got a new modem for the crib and internet and telephone services have resumed. singtel's given us a modem housed in a white gloss finish casing, which looks infinitely better than the one we had. good stuff.

i almost wanted to blog in the toilet. but it would be tough keeping balance.

anyway, i feel kind of robbed yesterday. we had a regional meeting followed by dinner. i tried to squirm out of the dinner because:

1. the need of my family was greater
2. baby needed to go to class

what really ticked me off was that dinner was very much a social affair and did not require my attendance. exacerbating the situation was the fact that there was a downpour in the vicinity of our crib. guilt to the power of infinity.

when we were driving home, we found out that ah gong had gone home (only to return later because he was locked out). as if i couldn't be more guilty.

worse was to come. we were to report today at 8am because some of the people had to leave to catch a flight. ok. i had to wake the whole neighbourhood up and sent them to ah ma's place.

the best part? one of the persons we were catering to did not turn up. the other had to leave early to check on the other person since he had a tummy ache.

having said all that, i still think my company is family-friendly. working from home is a fantasic idea which of course, is open to abuse but it's a fantastic privilege.

joaquin seems to be determined to prevent me from typing out this post.

anyway, today's meeting was smooth and i'm glad to say it's finally over.

off to manila next week and then bangkok. i seem to be going to all the h1n1 hotspots.

ok got to go. the little rascal's crawling towards my laptop again!
